A stick of burnt vine, paper, exertion and erasers. I have always loved to draw, and throughout my career in art it has been a very central aspect. I prefer to draw more simply, focusing more on the total shape or feeling of the object, than the minute detail of textures.
My drawings range from extremely detailed realism to quick sketches and abstract images. My sketchbooks are representative like a journal to a writer, capturing my thoughts and feelings forever with images. |

Printmaking has always held my attention with the immediacy of feeling and motion that presents itself in the creative process but that also begets a finished piece.
The technique of printmaking requires a collaboration between the artist and the press, with an aesthetic established in movement. I have worked with Paul Taylor of Rennaisance Press and owe him a large debt of gratitude for years of patient teaching. |

I could discuss the endless contributions made to the history of man due to paper, it's long history, and array of uses. Instead I will define paper as it applies to me, and my art. I fell in love with paper as a young child, the colored construction sheets and stiff manilla pages. So unique and maleable, along with only a box of crayons, paper allows the mind of a child to come alive. |
